Fruiting body, not grain-grown mycelium
Most “lion's mane” material on the market is mycelium fused to a grain substrate that cannot be separated from it. Two numbers show the difference: high β-glucan alongside low α-glucan means mushroom, not starch from grain.

Why we do not publish results. What you see above are methods and specification ranges, not figures from a single batch. A result only means something together with the batch number it refers to — which is why it goes into the certificate of analysis handed to your quality department before shipment, not onto a website. Reports for a specific batch are sent on request. The above describes how the ingredient is controlled; it is not a claim about what the product does.
Research status versus product communication
The compounds present in our ingredients are the subject of ongoing scientific research. The descriptions below concern the state of knowledge about the compound — they are not a claim about product effects and not a basis for labelling. Our own commercial communication rests solely on carriers of authorised claims.

What this means for labelling. None of the entries above is a basis for a health claim. The carrier of compliant communication in our micronized powder and capsules is niacin — in the wording of Regulation (EU) No 432/2012 and at a confirmed level of at least 15% of the nutrient reference value per daily portion. For botanical ingredients we use only on-hold claims (Article 28(6) of Regulation 1924/2006), in their registered wording and only where national law permits. Every delivery comes with a list of permitted and prohibited wordings.

Quality and documentation
The questions every serious customer asks
What documents come with a batch?
A certificate of analysis covering heavy metals, pesticide residues (716-substance panel), full microbiology, moisture and particle size, and for Lion's Mane also β- and α-glucan determination. The hericenone profile is determined on request for a specific batch. A product specification is included. Analytical reports go to your quality department before shipment — we do not publish them on the website, because a result without a batch number means nothing.
How do you know it is fruiting body and not grain-grown mycelium?
From two independent measurements. Hericenones form only in the fruiting body — we determine them by HPLC-UV against a certified standard. The second proof is negative: a trace α-glucan level alongside high β-glucan rules out starch ballast from a grain substrate. Grain-grown mycelium material has that ratio inverted. Both results are reported for the specific batch in the certificate of analysis.
What does the certification chain look like?
Cultivation is run as primary production under GHP, with sanitary registration. Drying takes place at a partner certified to FSSC 22000 (a GFSI scheme). Milling and micronization take place at a facility with an implemented HACCP manual and GMP. If your specification also requires a GFSI scheme at the milling stage, tell us at the outset — we will indicate which formats meet that today.
Can you maintain batch-to-batch consistency?
We record process parameters for every batch, which lets us reproduce conditions rather than merely describe them. We confirm consistency with results, not declarations — every batch ships with its own glucan determination, so the spread is visible rather than hidden.
What are the minimum order quantities?
We start with test samples, then pilot batches, and ultimately annual contracts. Thresholds are agreed individually and depend on format and particle size.
Do you manufacture under the customer's brand?
Yes. We run contract manufacturing of the ingredient and encapsulation under your brand.
Do you help with labelling compliance?
With every ingredient we supply a list of what may and may not be communicated on its basis, with the legal grounds. Functional mushrooms have no authorised health claims; the carrier of compliant communication is an added nutrient such as the niacin in our micronized powder and capsules. We do not sell an ingredient with a ready-made marketing promise attached, because that is a risk that transfers to you.
